Red Bean Taiyaki


  • 1 egg

  • 30g sugar

  • 20g melted butter

  • 150ml milk

  • 100g cake flour

  • Pinch of salt

  • 4g baking powder

  • 1g baking soda

  • Cooking spray

  • 150g red bean paste


  1. Whisk egg and sugar together in a large mixing bowl till pale and creamy.

  2. Whisk in butter, followed by milk.

  3. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk into mixture.

  4. Preheat taiyaki mould and coat with cooking oil. Pour in appropriate amount of batter, followed by 25g of red bean. Pour more batter over to cover the red bean. Place the cover down and let cook for about 10mins until golden brown on both sides.
