Sticky Beef Ribs with Salted Black Beans


  • 2kg beef ribs

  • 45g salted black beans

  • 375ml water

  • 2 bulbs of garlic - halved horizontally

  • 1tbsp grated ginger

  • 90g brown sugar

  • 90ml honey

  • 1 long red chilli - halved


  1. Place ribs in a large saucepan of water over high heat, covered and bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to low and cook for 1hr till ribs are tender. Drain.

  3. Preheat oven 200degC.

  4. Place ribs and all ingredients in a large deep roasting pan. Cover with foil and cook for 45mins.

  5. Remove foil and turn ribs. Cook uncovered for another 30mins till sticky and glossy.

  6. Serve immediately.
