  • 1 cup water

  • 2tbsp white sugar

  • 40g butter

  • 1tsp salt

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 500ml oil - for deep-frying

[Chocolate Sauce]

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate

  • 40ml whipping cream


  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2tsp ground cinnamon


  1. Sauce: Melt chocolate and mix in cream. Set aside.

  2. Coating: Mix sugar and cinnamon together, set aside.

  3. Churro: Melt butter in a saucepan. Add in sugar, salt and water, whisk well, bring to boil.

  4. Remove pan from heat and gradually whisk in flour. Mix well to form a soft dough.

  5. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

  6. Heat oil to 190degC and pipe dough in strips into hot oil. Fry till golden brown, drain on paper towels.

  7. Coat churros with cinnamon sugar and serve with chocolate sauce.
