Sesame Oil Chicken (Wings)


  • 5 garlic cloves - unpeeled

  • 3 stalks of scallion - cut into lengths, separate white and green parts

  • 6 ginger slices

  • 10-12pcs chicken wings

  • 1tbsp light soy sauce

  • 2tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 2tbsp Chinese wine

  • 2tbsp sesame oil

  • Pepper

  • 100ml water

  • 3 small pcs rock sugar

  • 2tbsp cornstarch + 5tbsp water


  1. Heat pan with some oil. Saute garlic, white parts of scallion and ginger till fragrant.

  2. Add in chicken and mix well, let cook for a few mins.

  3. Add in light and dark soy sauce, Chinese wine, sesame oil and pepper. Mix well.

  4. Then, add in water, mix well, followed by rock sugar. Let simmer covered for 10mins.

  5. Gradually mix in cornstarch solution and keep stirring till liquid thickens up.

  6. Add in green parts of scallion, mix well and its ready to serve!
