10:30am: Campo dei Fiori

Campo dei Fiori is the venue of probably the oldest market in Rome since 1869. It is open every morning, except for Sundays, till today. At the very beginning, only fruits and vegetables were sold at the market. As the market grew, so does their variety of products, including a flower market at the corner. “Campo dei Fiori” meaning “field of flowers”, as the location used to be a field of flowers before it was being paved in 1456.

11:30am: Cloister of Bramante / Chiostro del Bramante

Completed in 1504, the Cloister of Bramante is a historical building. After major renovation works in 1997, the cloister was transformed into a multi functional venue dedicated to cultural events, exhibitions, meetings, concerts, and educational activities.

12:30pm: Lunch at Ristorante Pizzeria Castello

1:30pm: St Angelo Bridge / Ponte Sant' Angelo

A bridge completed in 134 AD by Roman Emperor Hadrian to span the river from the city centre to his newly constructed mausoleum (now as Castel Sant’ Angelo).

2:30pm: Napoleonic Museum / Museo Napoleonico

The Napoleonic Museum presents the collections of Count Giuseppe Primoli, born in 1851. He spent most of his youth in Paris and moved to Rome after the fall of the Roman Empire. Totally devoted to his family, he started a collection of works of art and various objects linked to Bonapartes. The items were donated to Rome where many Bonapartes had sought refuge. Primoli’s aim was to present the imperial family from a private point of view.

5:30pm: Piazza Navona, Fiumi Fountain / Fountain of the Four Rivers / Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi

Piazza Navona was built in the 1st century on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, and follows the form of the open space of the stadium. It features important sculptural creations such as the Fiumi Fountain located in the middle. There is also two other fountains, Moor Fountain and Fountain of Neptune.

7pm: Dinner at Bernini Ristorante
