Day 10: Osaka + Depart

In a blink, down to the last day in Japan 😭

Didn’t do much for today as I had to depart to the airport at 2pm. After checking out of my airbnb, I first went to Namba Station to store my luggage. This is where I will take the train to the airport later on. There are many shops and cafes around Namba, so I just stayed around here to reduce travelling time.

First, I went to a cafe called Saturdays NYC, it’s a clothing store and cafe. They do lots of unique looking pastries and cakes here. Really wanted to get the lamington - I really love this cake and it’s very difficult to get them elsewhere outside Australia - but went for the strawberry custard danish in the end for a more colourful looking photo. This shop is full of aesthetics and is a really spacious and nice place to chill. I was the only customer at the point of visit, so I really enjoyed the relaxing vibes.

Next, I headed to Dotonbori. Took a queue ticket for Mameshiba Cafe first, it’s a place where you can interact with shiba inu puppies, really cute! They limit the number of people allowed for each 30mins slot, so waiting time can be quite long. While waiting, I got some takoyaki from Takoyaki Juhachiban. The takoyakis here are additionally sprinkled with pink fish powder and puffed rice, which gives the takoyakis a nice pink hue and a crunchy texture, really unique!

It’s time to head to the puppy cafe, they are soooooooo cute! Each ticket grants you 30mins and a drink. They were just happily roaming around, playing with one another, and getting into fights occasionally. So much happened within 30mins! Lastly, had lunch at Genrokuzushi before heading back to Namba Station. Genrokuzushi is a conveyor belt sushi place and is one of the most affordable places to get good quality sushi, it’s just ¥125 per plate and premium sushis are ¥200 per plate.
