Time to Travel Again! ✈️

Solo Female Traveller in Bangkok

Omg it’s finally happening! The last overseas travel that I had was Jan 2020 when covid just started and it has been almost 2.5yrs now? Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and some other countries have allowed no-testing travelling, so I’ve decided to visit Bangkok for a few days!

Travelling requirements for Thailand from S’pore have simplify by so much and all you need is to apply for the Thailand Pass - BUT, as of 1st July 2022 onwards, Thailand Pass is no longer required, you just need to be fully vaccinated to be exempted from quarantine!

For accommodation, I’ve chosen Arte Hotel ($64/night), a boutique hotel that is walking distance to Terminal 21 (mall), Asok BTS station, Sukhumvit MRT station, and 1 BTS stop to EmQuartier (mall). It is a SHA+ grade hotel, and was built in 2016. SHA is a cert awarded to hotels and services that fulfil basic pandemic-level safety and health requirements. SHA+ means additionally, at least 70% of their staff are fully vaccinated; and SHA++ means they also partner with certified hospitals for PCR tests.

I started solo travelling since 2015, and I do prefer solo travel over travelling with family or friends.

Is it safe for females to travel alone in Bangkok? YES IT IS. In short, Bangkok is now so much more developed as compared to how I remembered it as, back in 2018. It is cleaner and more modern now, and the standard of their malls are amazing! The standard of living in Bangkok is definitely so much better now, I felt the city is just like Singapore.
